Default Overheating brake drum

I am hearing a strange clunking noise coming from my right rear wheel (98
Accord, 166k miles). Since I only heard it when applying the brakes, I took
it to Midas and they were unable to find a problem, except that the brake
drum was not "true" and that there was a bent suspension rod on the *left*
side of the car.

Also, the right rear brake drum was really hot to the touch. About two
years ago, I had the parking brake lines cut because they had frozen up.
The Midas guys discovered that the right rear parking brake line had not
been cut, so they did that.

Now, I hear the clunking noise even when *not* applying the brakes, and the
wheel is still hot to the touch after driving.

What in the world do you think is wrong with the car?

red flag.

highly unlikely.

takes a lot to do that. you would have noticed an impact like that.

hard/impossible to say based on your description. but it is psychic
wednesday, so maybe someone else can "see".

all i know is that whoever it is inspecting this vehicle right now, they
don't know their business. find someone competent [independent honda
specialist/dealer] and have them take care of it asap.
