I know this is far-fetched, but with the newer Accords having a chip
in the key that is read by the ignition before the car can start, what would it take to be able to locate a lost key by reading the code with some kind of receiver? I suppose you would somehow have to duplicate the system in the Accord. Also, the receiver probably has to be very close to the key. I envision something like a metal detector that you can use throughout your home to find the elusive key. Dick -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

Passive RFID has very limited broadcast range. |

Actually, you have to go to the dealer and get a new key, and you have to hope you don't need to get the car re-chipped. A real Honda dealer will be able to make a new key for you without 'extra costs'. marco |
