Default Changing inner tie rod end on 96 Civic

Does anyone have any advice on changing an inner tie rod end on a 95
civic. I bought one at AutoZone and it comes with a strange little
tabbed washer. I'm not sure what to do with that. My manual and the on-
line version on AutoZone does not address the inner tie-rod. I'm
getting the special tool monday that is required to change it.

Thanks.

First of all, you said '96 in the subject header and '95 in the body of your
message. A '95 and a '96 are different cars. Which is it?

Anyway, I'm guessing that the tie rod end you got at AutoZone is a generic
aftermarket part. Get an OEM part.

That little washer tab gets bent downwards after the tie rod is installed.
This is what ensures it will not unscrew itself.

You should NOT attempt this repair without the correct manual.
www.helminc.com (or find used on eBay).
