The thing is people expect ARs and Fords to stop working randomly so that was no disapontment. |

He ended up paying to replace all the parts before the recall came out. The car was sold by the time the recall was released. VAG seemed to wait an awful long time before they owned up to the issue. |

It wasn't there issue, no other manufacture acted any quicker and most couldn't do anything as the supplier of the duff units didn't have enough stock to forfill the extra demand. As most of the vehicles had been designed specifically for that unit another supply couldn't just be magiced up. It wasn't an uncommon view in dealers of any brand to see the coil packs being taken from the cars in the show room, the demonstrators or even new cars that had a week or so before they were picked up to fix customer cars. This did have a problem as some of the packs coming out of these cars were still from the problem batch so the cars would then exhibit the same problem later down the line. It's just like the Fabia/Ibiza/Polo thing the Fabia always come out higher on customer satisfaction with relation to reliability despite the fact that for the past few years it's had exactly the same underpinnings as the other two, Skoda still don't have the reputation of VW so people expect less and when a problem crops up they are more prepared for it. The same is true for consumer goods last time I was looking for a new washing machine there were a couple of ones that I was looking at one from a more budget end of the market one from higher up, after some investigation the budget branded model had a higher customer satisfaction on "quality of wash" and "service life" despite both units being identical bar the control panel. I don't for a second believe the budget one was better but it didn't have the major "premium" brand image or £250 price excess so perceptions as to what you will receive were a factor. |

"Ultra" reliable? Audi? Put down the crack pipe. |
