Met a guy earlier this evening with a '90 CRX Si. 500,000 miles -
original motor/transmission. Garaged all its life. Fabulous condition.
Total hero worship. And a little envy.

Shoot. I only have 126K on my '91 HF with the original clutch. Guess I
have a ways to go.

Yessssss!...... thought that at best I would be able to get my 91
Civic HB to maybe 250K, 300K miles w/o major repairs.........this
gives me hope to set the barrier a wee-bit higher..........

That would depend on what your definition of "major repairs" is. Many parts
on a car just don't last that long.
