My daughter just mentioned to me while driving with my headlights on,
that the glove compartment light is on even with its door shut. I asked her to reshut it but same result. When I turned off my headlights, it went off. I would think the compartment's bulb would burn out sooner than normal but to be honest I never noticed it before and for all I know it could have been that way since day one. Is this normal? |

This is normal for 2006 Accord. There is no switch in glove box door that turns it off when you close it. It wouldn't be surprising if it is the same for 2003. ================================================== ================== Khalid 2006 Honda Accord EX-V6 6MT 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid khalid gonehiking org |

As far as I can tell, the light stays on all the time after you turn on the parking/headlights. I'm too big to crawl inside to really check. :-) Dick -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

I went ahead and oiled the latch mechanism (after posting) anyway but I couldn't see no switch around the latch mechanism so I began to think it might be made that way after-all. Kinda odd to me to make it this way but I guess if it lasted 4 years or so already I guess it won't burn out too often??? Thanks again Dick for taking the time to look at yours. Much Appreciated... doug |

Anyway, looks like a great source for parts. Thanks Curly for this great reference... doug |

Maybe Honda does the same? Maybe?? I honestly didn't check the bulb which is toward the back of the glove compartment. Another poster (Curly) gave me a nice honda parts web site which will probably tell me what the bulb is, if I really need to know or I can get off my fat a__ and look at the glove compartment again <g>. thanks |
