Not entirely true, about the key-chip that is. Many of them make systems to over-ride, bypass or mimic they key-chip, and are only active when turned on by the remote starter brain box. Still can be fooled by "extra" hot-wiring, but will the thief want to spend the extra time when there is probably an easier car nearby? |

I would like to install one before winter... |

I live in a safe area with no such problems. Beside - car is fully insured so there is nothing to worry. |

Anything by DEI (Python, Viper, etc...) or CodeAlarm. Make sure you deal with a good shop that uses a proper security override module and not some place that merely tapes your stock key to the steering column. |
