Default 99 Accord Rear Wheel Bearings

Hello,

I have a 99 accord that is making a humming noise coming from the back
end. I had this same issue a while back on my old integra. I just
wanted to now what the procedure is for replacement of these bearings
is for the 99 accord. Is it something that requires special
extracting tools or is it a straightforward process?

You comments are much appreciated!

Thanks
LP

it may not be the bearings. to be sure, simply jack up the rear so the
tire is off the ground, then check for looseness and grittiness.

humming noise is more likely a tire issue or even a bushing issue. i
had that recently on my civic. i tracked it down to worn rear top
control arm bushings. i replaced them and the problem disappeared.

Interestingly, my daughter's 99 Accord also needed new rear bearings
(symptom - humming noise from rear end).

The rear hubs were full of water. Apparently Honda engineering was a
little negligent with respect to adequate weather seals that year.

This is not a cheap repair.
