My 99 Accord 4cyl is not starting because immobilizer refuses to
accept both keys. The car was towed to Honda service, who are saying that this is due to a bad battery, test says that it cranks at 420 amps cold, should be 640. Service guy told me that there is a TSB for this: bad battery can cause starter to crank ok, but messes up immobilizer. Anyone heard of this? |

If it starts perfectly when boosted by a non-running car, then they are probably correct. Read through the many TSB's about immobilizer systems, some filed under 'other' and 'Miscellaneous' here: http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/tsb/ 'Curly' |
