If I am not mistaken, pin 5 of the main relay connects to fuse 14 under
the dash, which gets 12v when the ignition is in the start or run positions. Well, it seems there is no connection between that pin and the relay. I was looking under the dash and it seems the wire that supposedly connect both together leaves the relay, then goes somewhere by the firewall, if not all the way to the engine bay for whatever reason, and then possibly gets back to the fuse 14. Has anyone traced this wire out and can tell me how far into the harness it goes before coming back to the fusebox? -- Mauricio raub-kudria-com (if you need to email me, use this address =) |

Has anyone traced > this wire out and can tell me how far into the harness it goes before > coming back to the fusebox? This is a black wire with a yellow stripe? It doesn't leave the Main Relay, it leaves the #14 fuse. It ENTERS the Main Relay from there. It also goes out to the engine compartment to the EVAP purge control solenoid and the fuel pressure regulator solenoid. Power for those two solenoids plus the Main Relay's pin 5 ALL come from the #14 fuse. If one thing's not working, the others won't either. Feed to the #14 fuse comes from the ignition switch, specifically IG1 (the main IG terminal). Got any other electrical problems, such as starting, stalling, or intermittent electrical operation? Might want to pull the IG switch and have a look at the contacts.
