Tank was about 1/4 full when this message showed up. Of course the cap was
fine. Message will not clear following instructions in manual. Any
suggestions before I take it to the dealer? And no, we do not top off tank.
Besides, like I said, the tank was only 1/4 fill when it showed up. It was
coldest night since we had the car (although car is kept garaged.)

Replace the cap.
