Default Parts and older Hondas

Quick question:

If someone was to have a Honda that was 10 or more years old, (15?) how
likely is it that Honda or after market new parts would be available?
Not just big items, like motors or custom gear, but the little things
like fuel filler tubes, small parts, etc?

Just curious....

David

The OEM online parts sites I list at the site below have had
every OEM part I needed in the last few years for my 1991
Civic. Note that they claim to have parts for Hondas dating
to 1973, though I imagine, as you suspect, the older the
car, the less available OEM parts will be.

I have a 1987 Accord... no problem finding parts for it. Most parts places
(Lordco, etc.) even have a lot of them in stock.

Honda will keep commissioning new parts for as long as sufficient demand
exists, even past 20 years.

Once tooling wears out, though, there had better be pretty solid demand for
new tooling to be made.

Parts with chronically low demand will eventually be discontinued
regardless. Body panels and interior trim are prime candidates.
