I plan on installing a rebuilt steering gear in my 1992 Honda Civic.
The only area of concern is how do I install the pinnion gear shaft in the steering joint such that the steering wheel will be centered and the wheels will be pointed straight forward? |

It shows marking the original pinion shaft at the column u-joint picn bolt. In my situation I am replacing the steering gear with a different one. I assume that I can turn the old and new pinion shaft to full lock and mark the new one in the same position as the old one. Is this correct? |

Is this correct? > that should work fine. are you changing the gear ratio? if so, the full lock positions will be different, but you should still be able to find center ok. |
