Hello,
I am doing some restoration on a 91 Accord LX that I dinged up a bit. One of the things I am doing is replacing the right front passenger door. The best door I could find seems to be a 94 or so, as the trim is different. Anyway, the door seems to be similar enough, as the trim, inside pieces, window regulator and glass all transferred ok. The issue I have right now is that there is some slight "stickiness" when opening the door, and when I look at the right vs left doors, I see that the gap on the leading edge of the door (6mm) is wider than the gap on the left side. So, I'm thinking that if I can shrink the gap down to match the left side, then my stickiness should also go away, as I have traced it back to a binding issue of the weatherstripping in the upper left hand corner of the door, binding with the rear passenger door. My problem/question is, how do I go about adjusting the door this direction? I have sucked the door up tight to the hinge, so I am wondering, do I need to pull off the fender and loosen the other side of the hinges to move the door forward? Or is there some other trick I'm not aware of that will allow me to move the door forward the extra 1mm or so? Any help/thoughts appreciated. Thanks.... Mark Paulus |

They have tools that look like a wrecking bar that attach to the edge of the door. A few good lifts on the tool, and everything was back in alignment again. Didn't even charge me for it. Dick |
