I drove my in-law's '06 Accord (15,000 miles on odo) and I didn't like it at
all! The brakes were SO touchy! Also, when you lifted off the accelerator, instead of gliding, or even having the kind of slow down you would have on a manual transmission, it had the sort of buck that you might have if the engine didn;t have enough gas to keep from stalling. Are these cars touchy and that much of a pain? They bring it to a very good dealer for servicing. -- KWW |

They seem to grab suddenly as thought they are overboosted. I preferred the brakes on my Prelude and feel they were superior in every respect to the Accord. |

When we bought our '03 Accord EX V-6, the first thing I noticed after leaving the dealer was how touchy the brakes were. At least compared to our '99. Now, they seem perfectly normal. I imagine if I got into another '99 now, the brakes would seem heavy. Dick |

If that wasn't bad enough, the regenerative braking randomly cuts out and the car lurches forwards. It was dangerous originally on the 05 HAH but software updates have made the cut-out more gradual. The jerk you felt is probably the torque converter disengaging. I don't know about the 06 V6 but the 05 HAH has the slowest responding transmission that I've ever experienced. This is my second Honda and this was not what I was expecting. |

The brakes on myy '03 Accord EX V6 Coupe seemed really touchy, especially at very slow speeds. The only time I notice that characteristic now is after I drive another vehicle such as my son's full-size pickup truck. Casey |

The brakes on our '03 Accord and '06 Acura TSX work extremely well and are easy to modulate. They don't seem "touchy" to me at all. My only complaints is that the rear pads wear out relatively quickly, but since I do my own repairs this is no big deal. John |

I have driven everything from small Euro cars to a Ford Dump truck and even
drove a '69 Nova that had brakes that grabbed and I have NEVER experienced brakes that are so binary in their operation (especially at low speeds) as these brakes are. Thanks for the feedback everybody. I was concerned that there might be something wrong with them... possibly as a product of my mother-in-law's tendency to two-foot drive (left foot on the brake, right on the gas, and sometimes both pressing at once). -- KWW "John Horner" <jthorner@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:UBJAg.12$l95.11@trnddc08... > jim beam wrote: > >>> >>> Same here. Very astute observations; they are what they are. Mine is the same as you
describe. KWW wrote: > I drove my in-law's '06 Accord (15,000 miles on odo) and I didn't like it at > all! The brakes were SO touchy!
