To review:
The front O2 sensor went out. A multi-fit sensor that was listed for my car didn't work. A Bosch sensor new from Advance Auto Parts didn't work I bought a new one (Densco) from Honda this morning, $200.00 and change with tax. So far no CEL and no codes, either hard or pending. Maybe it's true that the F23A4 will only accept the Densco. Time will tell. -- Pull my chain to reply. |

You can buy Denso O2 sensors from a number of auto parts "stores" on the web for about half what the dealer charged you. I've purchased them for my Acura and Toyota vehicles with the exact connections for "plug & play" installation. Pull your chain? I don't know you well enough... |

$200! Ouch. But it's important to get it running after all the delays.
Funny, www.rockauto.com lists for the F23A4: 1.DENSO Part # 2349025 FRONT; w/ Eng. Code F23A4 {OE-TYPE OXYGEN SENSOR #36531PAAL21} $91.79 2. BOSCH Part # 13493 Interval=100000 {Oxygen Sensor - OE Type Before Catalyst} $104.79. (The Bosch 15733 universal I mentioned in an earlier post is only for downstream in the F23A4, and OK for upstream too only in F23A1). I think you might have gotten sensors for the LEV (F23A1) and not the ULEV (F23A4). Just curious, can you provide the part numbers for the sensors you got? Thanks. I picked up a statement from another newsgroup that said ONLY the Honda sensor will work. I don't have a clue why theirs would be different but I was tired of messing with it. > > 1.DENSO Part # 2349025 FRONT; w/ Eng. Code F23A4 {OE-TYPE OXYGEN SENSOR > #36531PAAL21} $91.79 > > 2. I don't have the Bosch part number anymore. The 'generic' one is: 5420 04G04, made in Indonesia. The Honda one is:36531-PAA-L23. The old Denso was:192400-1000 07U09. The first sensor Honda pulled for me had a pigtail that was too short. Turns out there is a difference in length between the 2dr and the 4dr.... > > > Nasty wrote: >> To review: >> >> The front O2 sensor went out. Yeah, looks Honda updated it (L23). That old denso had a weird number,
they are usually 2344xxx. Well it's working now. Nasty wrote: > It's possible. The 'generic' one had bad wiring instructions so I have to > throw that evidence out.
