95 accord auto transmission thumping - 123k
a friend has the above vehicle with a shifting problem. it thumps
loudly when shifting 1-2 and to a lesser extent 2-3. to me it looks like a broken rear motor mount, but their dealer swears it's defective transmission that needs replacing asap. i'm 90% confident of my diagnosis, but does anyone here have any experience to the contrary? are these transmissions known for solenoid or lockup clutch release problems?
