have about 95000km on the car with the original timing belt. I was told I
could go until about 120000km.. Is this the case or should I be getting it
changed soon?

Replacing the timing belt is prohibitively expensive for some people.
Unless you car has lived a hard life, it's best to stick with the
recommended change interval specified in your owners manual.

Your Owner's Manual mentions YEARS too. Keep that in mind as well.

Yep and I believe it is 6 years so it's time to change it.

the advice you got is good. Since you are talking KMs, I assume you are in
Canada, which indicates a 'SEVERE' maintenance schedule. Somehow that 49th
parallel makes a big difference.... Take that for what its worth... an ounce
of prevention.....

You can do the t-belt job yourself in about 4 hours and about $75 worth of
OEM parts.

Same weather in MT, MN, ND, MI, IN, ME, and northern NY. Same severe
schedule.

yes. people that live paycheck to paycheck and think the only thing
their car needs is gas.

those are the type of people that are ALWAYS making new car payments.
