My check engine light was on a few weeks ago, and although it took
about a week, it finally went off, so I figured the problem must've been a loose gas cap or something. Well, after a few days, the light just came back on. I haven't refilled my gas tank or anything recently, so I'm afraid this is going to be an expensive problem. Any tips? |

Take your car to Autozone and have them read out the codes; they will do it for free. That will give you a general idea of the problem. |

Yeah, Auto Zone gave me the code last time, so I knew the problem was
with the EVAP system. It was code 1457, if I remember correctly (I could go find my original post, but I'm lazy). So now I'm hoping to figure out more specifics. |

A P1456 would likely be a cap, but a P1457 is a leak between the tank and engine. canister vent shut valve , 2 way bypass valve, purge control solenoid or the hoses involved. Chip |

So when I tried to fill up my tank today, the pump kept automatically
shutting off. I managed to coax it into giving me about half a tank, but it must've shut off a dozen times in the process. Think this is related? |
