Default check engine light

Can someone please tell me the trick to turning this light off without
taking it in to a mechanic. I know how to do it on a Nissan but cant find
the information on the Honda.

OF course it isn't in the owner manual. It isn't a repair book.

Go to a library, bookstore, or auto parts store and get a repair book
or two (or three) for your car. The shop manual at the dealer is the
best, but don't be surprised if it costs a hundred bucks. Chilton
or haynes manuals typically run about twenty bucks. Trip to the library
is free; but beware of chilton manuals that try to cover every auto
ever made.

I don't know about a 94 Accord, but on a 95 Integra (Civic) there is a
pushbutton switch under the dash, near the ignition switch. If you have
one of those, press it, turn the key and wait for the light to go off.

Hol' on a minnit!!!

Is the OP talking about a MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light,
or the CHECK ENGINE light?
Lots of people confuse the two.

If it's the Maint light, try here:

Since Nissans don't have a maintenance req light, I assume he is talking
about the check engine light. On most of the newer Hondas you reset it by
pulling the 7.5 amp "backup radio" (or on some of them, just "backup") fuse
for longer than 10 seconds.

my 99 accord pisses me off with the check engine light coming on often

the solution is go to ebay get a code scanner

i bought a used acutron and am soooo soooo happy

get the better model that erases codes vs just read the code

for less than $100 no more stress i think there is 2 type of code
readers pre 1996 and post 1996 get the right one for your year car any
/ make model is all the same
