Some possible clues:
www.autozone.com 's free online repair manuals say the speed sensor is "incorporated into the speedometer" for the 93 Civic. That's under "Chassis Electrical," then "Component Locations." Then go to "instruments and switches," etc. On the other hand, going to the transaxle section turns up the "speedometer driven gear," mounted on the transaxle...
