Default 2000 Honda Civic Vtec Sport Window Seal Problem

Hi I wondered whether anyone could help me. 2 years ago I was broken into
and my front driver window smashed. Autoglass came and fixed my window.
Last year I started having problems with my window opening and closing,
until eventually the window came out of the seal and stuck into an open
position. I called autoglass and took it to one of their garages and they
closed up the window for me. However, they told me that I needed a new
seal and that it was nothing to do with the replaced glass and that worn
out seals were a notorious honda problem. The seal I could see was torn
in places, but I was just happy to have my window closed again. Well now
the same problem has occured where the glass has come out of the seal and
I can no longer open or close it. It is again stuck in an open position.
I have to take it back to autoglass, but I'm wondering whether the problem
is indeed a honda problem or the problem is caused by the window
replacement I had 2 years ago. I should also mention I did find a piece
of glass inside the seal, and I never had problems with my window
beforehand.

its a relatively common honda problem, BUT it probably wasnt helped by
the glass in the seal. some people have reported that spraying silicone
lubricant on the seal every so often makes the problem disappear for 6
mos or more.

thats worth a shot, especially since the glass piece isnt lodged in
there anymore.
