Hi all,
My wife had her purse stolen last night from a restaurant. Damn thief took it from right in front of both of us apparently. Anyways, we've gone through the headache of cancelling credit cards, but we're not sure about how to handle her car. She has a 2005 CRV, and we want to change the locks, but I suspect it will cost a small fortune. Does anyone know the process for getting the immobolizer system reprogrammed. As this thief has a fully programmed key, I'm guessing we have to get the whole system reprogrammed. Otherwise, I'm hoping there is a wa to deactivate the key the stolen key and just get a new one. Thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated, and I hope your New Year's was better than ours. Lance |

When you buy a new key and remote, the dealer should be able to give you
instructions to reprogram the computer to recognize all your current keys. -- Later 'gator NOSPAMddlee10@hotmail.com remove NOSPAM for email "Lance" <lance99@sbcglobal.net> wrote in message news:1136138677.839634.12940@g44g2000cwa.googlegro ups.com... > Hi all, > > My wife had her purse stolen last night from a restaurant. No. Not keys. Instructions to recognize all your current remotes, yes. But the KEYS must contain the proper immobilizer codes so the car will start; only the dealer, or someone with the proper machine, can copy immobilizer codes from a working key to a new key. |
