Honda has been mounting the 4 cylinder engines and transmisions in most of
the vehicles they have made the same way for dozens of years. What are the primary reasons Honda engineers mounted the K-series engines in vehicles in a radically different way? Some examples: Placement of air filter housing; anti-lock brake system unit; fuse boxes; alternator, etc. Thanks in advance, Jason -- NEWSGROUP SUBSCRIBERS MOTTO We respect those subscribers that ask for advice or provide advice. I was referring to the K series engines in the 2006 4 cyld. Honda Accords. I looked at one of those engines and was amazed at how different it was from the engine in my 1999 4 cyld. Accord. It appears that everything that is on the right side the K series engine system is on the left side of the engine system in my Accord. Visit a Honda dealership and take a look at it. Perhaps the design has something to do with that. |

Perhaps the design has something to do > with that. You may be right. There must have been a reason since Honda has probably spent over a million dollars developing and improving the engine system that is now in almost every 4 cylinder Honda car that has been built over the last 30 years. They now have an engine system that is radically different. There had to be a reason. I down loaded an article about the engine from the Honda Tuning website. hondatuningmagazine.com In the search engine at the website, type these words in their search engine: K series look for an article on the list entitled, "All In The Family" by Keith Buglewicz and Henry Dekuyper click on the picture of engine that is on the floor and the picture gets really large. I downloaded the picture and the article. Jason -- NEWSGROUP SUBSCRIBERS MOTTO We respect those subscribers that ask for advice or provide advice.
