you don't have to be psychic to figure out whether you want to respond
to an "ASAP" that can't ask the right questions!

The O2 doesn't affect starting, but you do need it to pass emissions tests.

He's right. The VX doesn't have an O2 sensor, it has the LAF which improves
overall efficiency by operating within a very broad air/fuel ratios range,
12:1 to 25:1

The other sensor stuck onto the intake is the intake air temp sensor. It
won't start without it.

It's located in the air intake manifold and also called the
"TA sensor." See item 15 (between items 18 and 23 on the
drawing) at

The TA sensor sends a signal to the engine control computer
that affects the fuel injection duration.

Seems to me its vital to proper operation. Dunno about
starting.

Dunno about this cold air intake. If you have a web site
describing it, please post it.

If someone stole the intake, chances are that someone cut off the wire
to this sensor, most often it won't start if you do this. If the sensor is
not there, either get a new one or put a resistor in its place.

Playing psychic is slowing your progress, so here's a few quiz: Did
you mean air intake or intake manifold that's missing? Did you
make sure that all your plugs are firing (use a timing light). Did
you clear the cylinder if they're flooded? Got good gas? Has stock
parts? How's compression?
