After having new (BFGoodrich) tires installed,
I've noticed the left wheel and right wheel both have
treads that direct towards the right, in other words, identical
tires are installed on both left and right wheels, while
the treads on the tire itself is asymmetric...

I know nothing about tires. It is marked as "radial" (does
that mean anything?) My question is is that normal?
I thought the treads direct water away so the left tire
should be mirror image of the right tire... is that not true?
I see nowhere saying it is directional tire (is that the right
name?)

yes, normal.

if you want tires with a rotation sense or a left/right side, you have
to pay a substantial premium. what you have are just normal tires like
most people have on normal cars. you'll not have any problem with wear
and you'll never notice any directional differences in the wet.

are they perfect? no. but considering that most people select tires
based on tread looks rather than what works hydrodynamically, hey...
