I own a 98 Prelude with a stock stereo. I wanted to know if there is
an auxiliary input in the back of the unit which can be used with the line out on an MP3 player. If so, what type of adapter do I need and where can I find instructions for removing the stereo? Thank you. |

I just replaced the stereo on my '03 Accord with an Alpine unit with direct
connect for an iPod. Let me check my bookmarks and post back tomorrow. I think I have a site which will tell you exactly what you need. There have been some solutions posted regarding hooking up iPods/etc. to stock Honda radios. -Pedro |

Thank you. -------------------------------- Do a google.com search for names like blitzsafe and Pie adapters. Crutchfields sells them. Use SEARCH to find dozens of previous posts in this NG. It's been discussed to death recently. 'Curly' |

Thank you. http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piehonaux.html On my 2003 Civic, I didn't have to remove the radio. Mine has a flat 14 pin connector, so it was easy enough to reach up behind the radio and plug the connector in. Yours is an 8 pin round connector, so you might need to see it to get the orientation right, if you can't just plug it in. I use mine with a battery-powered MP3 player. There's a ground wire on the adapter that you may or may not have to connect to a ground, depending on whether your device is battery powered or car powered. The effect on the audio is obvious enough to pick the right way. ;-) -- --- Clarence A Dold - Hidden Valley (Lake County) CA USA 38.8,-122.5 |
