It's not a 1961 Pontiac Laurentian . . You need to own a manual. 'Curly' |

For a drawing of the engine oil dipstick that might help, go to
www.slhonda.com , "order parts online" section. Put in your car's year, model, etc. Go to Engine, then Oil Pan-Oil Dipstick. From googling I'm pretty sure your automatic transmission has a fill hole on the side of the transmission, like a manual transmission on many cars. In other words, it appears there is no transmission dipstick for your Passport. Buy a Haynes or Chilton manual at your local Autozone for under $20, or go to your public library (which often has one's car's repair manual, Chilton's or other) and get the instructions for this job. Honda might have added one when they rebadged it as a Passport, but I doubt it. |

E Meyer,
I just confirmed that this is, in fact, the case. There is NO dipstick for tranny and it will have to be checked manually or visually from underneath with finger test and pulling the filler plug. However, I cannot recall ever filling one of these units. Is there a special bottle for squeezing fluid into tranny? I've done so for a rear end differential with gear LUBE. Jeff F |
