This indicator light remains lit for +/-10 minutes after initial start
before it goes off. The parking brake is not set and the brake fluid reservoir appears full. Once the indicator light goes off after the first 10 minutes of initial driving, it shuts off normally during the rest of the day. Any thoughts? Thanks. |

My '00 TL did something like this once and it turned out the problem was that the wires coming off the float had gotten pinched between the lid and the body of the reservoir. They have a tendency to twist with the lid into the latch when you tighten the lid. I took off the lid, exercised the float up and down by hand and put the lid back on carefully (at least more carefully than it had been done the previous time) and the problem has not recurred. The other possibility is the parking brake switch. Try engaging and then releasing the parking brake sharply the next time the light comes on. If that switch is sticking, exercising it might free it. Also check that the switch on the parking brake has not come loose. |

Thanks. ================================ The interval to have the fluid changed is (probably) 36 months . . .Has it ever been done? 'Curly' |
