Default accord stumbles a bit when accelerating from stop

Hello,
I've got a 2001 LX Accord with about 36K miles
on it. I have had the usual oil changes
every 3 mos or so and had the air and oil
filters replaced.

I've noticed this for several months now.
When accelerating from a stop (or traffic light),
the car goes forward abruptly. It doesn't
accelerate smoothly. There is no shaking, but
it feels like the car is being pushed forward.

It doesn't happen all the time, but often enough.

Car rides smoothly otherwise.

What could this be a symptom of?

I have not done a tune-up, yet?

Thanks for any info!
