Default Electronic rust protection?

Is this worth it compared to standard underbody rust protection and
paint protection?

With the newer bodies, do you even rust and paint protection? I
noticed that on my 2000 Accord SE that the wheel wells are beginning
to rust. I'm trading it in for a 2006 Civic EX for a variety of reaons
and wondering if I need the rust and paint protection (electronic or
chemical) or not.

I live in Toronto Canada, so we get blasted with snow (and salt of
course) for about two to three months out of the year.

Thanks,

Drew

Forget the electronic hocus-pocus.

Rust Check or Krown. The "drippy" stuff. Easily, worlds away, the very best
rust preventative I've ever seen.

And your "two to three months" is a bit off. More like 4 months. Snow
starts end of Nov, stops about early April.

Do you mind me asking what they're charging for the EX in TO?
I live in central New Brunswick and they're asking $21,525 + tax for a 06
Civix LX (manual transmission), with regular 6.4% financing. I think the EX
was another $1500 (5 spd).
I too have decided to go with the new Civic, but am waiting (IMpatiently)
for some kind of deal....

Default 06 Civic EX/LX TO prices, first impression of the EX

The MSRP was 21500 for the LX and 23000 for the EX.
You should haggle to get at least a few percent knocked off the price.

IMHO I thought that for an extra $1500, the EX was worth it. You get a
moonroof, disk brakes on all wheels, 60/40 rear seats for great cargo
flexibility, six speakers as opposed to 4, and steering wheel audio
controls.

Maybe it's me, but this car seems to handle extremely well, better
than the 2000 Accord SE I had. Probably has to do with the Civic's
slightly smaller size, nearly equivalent HP to the 2000 Accord SE
engine, lighter weight, and the full disk brakes of the EX.

I thought that the 'close quarters' feel of the driver's area would
prove claustrophobic but it was not the case. Everything is designed
to be close at hand while being inconspicuous, even the hand brake.
The whole setup gave me a sense of being in a pilot's seat.

The lovely exterior lines gets a lot of second looks. On the inside I
noticed the nearly flat floor of the backseat. That's helpful for
cargo or for that fifth person.

On top of that you have advanced safety features like the curtain
airbags and advanced airbags.

Definitely not just another pretty face.
