Why would I want to pay a premium for the silicone coolant hoses made by
Samco, SFS Performance, etc.? Are they really worth the extra money in terms of longevity? I'd be interested in hearing the group's opinions and experiences with these types of hoses. Thanks. Kent |

My 2 Integras lasted 209,000 miles between the two of them with only one upper radiator hose change (it got soft). So why bother with silicone even if it is "better"? |

Unless you like the cool colors. If your car is regularly raced (and I mean competitive TRACK racing), silicone hoses may buy you better reliability under stress.
