Why "of course"?

I've had a standing invitation for many years to come test drive
anything on the lot, no matter what.

financially, rationally, itll NEVER be a good move.

like me... ive got a 98 civic CX hatch. ive been lusting after the scion
xA ever since it came out. and now the similar honda jazz is supposedly
being released.

why would i want to trade a 2dr hatchback with a 1.6l engine for a 4
door hatch with a 1.5l engine? especially since...

my cars paid off
its bluebook is about $4500 tradein
it only has 50k miles on it
runs great!

makes no sense, does it?

Well, you're clearly not the "gotta have the cool new new thing" type,
and place a high priority on a better engine/mass ratio. I'm not either
(I prefer more power, too), and am of the opinion that used cars in good
shape are the best use of my resources. Wouldn't mind getting better
mileage and having a quieter ride, but I don't need the cool new thing.
Lotta people do--or at least they want it and decide they can afford it.

Seems like if it is in short supply, no test drives. For example, no
chance of driving a S 2000 or the 6 speed Accord coupe. Test drive on a
Pilot or an Accord -- no problem. So, I just pass.

I was at the dealer today, and he asked if I wanted to drive a Civic.
The LX has a waiting list, for God's sake.

I passed; I told him I'm waiting for the Si. He said no problem.

The coupe is one sweet looking piece. Take the badges off, and no one
would know you were driving a Honda.

I was thinking the opposite about the new BMW 3xx. If you couldn't see the
distinctive grille, you might think you were alongside an Accord.
