> EBC greenstuff --> sucked, POS You get what you pay for. The EBC greenstuff pads are totally OK for street use. Ive been using them on most of my cars and the car is sold and buildt, and its worth it for stock replacement. Nothing more. For track use i only use Endless pads. > 1. Cross drilled rotors DO NOTHING to improve braking or Reduceing Brake > Fade. Not true. The purpose of crossdrilling isn't to increase brake grip, its to cool the brakesystem and prevent overheating. If the brakesystem overheats it will reduce the brakeeffect and brakeresponse. > 2. Cryogenically Treating Rotors does nothing. Also not true. Even tho its a waste of money, it does reduce pad and disc wear. I wouldn't say its nearly enough to actually bother doing it. > 3. Changing the rear drums to Disks may actually Hinder braking. This is generalizing. In some cases yes, it may infact reduce braking because your brake booster and master cylinder isn't set up for it, and doesn't have the proper volume to compensate for the extra fluid pushed around. > 4. Big Brake Kits in the front (Only) may also Hinder Braking. Same as above. > 5. Big brake kits can wreak havoc on ABS systems causing a measurable > increase in stoping distance. This is true! The problem isnt the bigbrakes, its the ABS. ABS in general reduces the stopping power of the brakesystem, but improves handling when braking. Track guys disable or remove ABS for this purpose. > 6. your tires may be the most important part of your braking system > (After all you can only stop as quickly as your tires will let you). Also true! The tires are 40 percent of the brakesystem. You can have the best brakesystem in the world, and it wont matter a bit if you dont have the tires to support it. -- strepto ------------------------------------------------------------------------ strepto's Profile: http://Club3series.com336 View this thread: http://fitfreak.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2480 Discussions from http://fitfreak.net |

^nice responce.... Maybe I should ask the guy who posted those points again regarding your reply...im also curious about the truth of those points.. btw, in what car are you using the EBC greenstuff? I apologize firsthand about it first....my opinion is more the fact we're facing when they're installed on 7thgencivic......they just sucked...making many problems..... -- _karu_ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ _karu_'s Profile: http://Club3series.com361 View this thread: http://fitfreak.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2480 Discussions from http://fitfreak.net |
