The 2005 Accord has 2 12 volt accessory sockets but the power to both is
turned off when the ignition key is turned off. This means you can't leave a cell phone plugged in overnight to recharge or use the accessory power unless the key is on. Is there a fix for this? All my other cars had the 12 volt power available all the time. |

Not sure about the '05, but on my '00 TL, there is an unused line to an always hot fuse of the same rating in the connector going into the fuse block. All that had to be done was move one wire to a different (and empty) hole in the connector to make the cigarette lighter jack always hot. The other power socket (in the console) shares a fuse with something that needed to be switched (I don't remember off the top of my head what it was), so there was no easy fix with it. Yours is probably similar, but you will need the wiring diagram (www.helminc.com) to know for sure. |
