Replaced the front rotors on my 97 Accord (big job) due to it having a
serious rotor warping. Utilized Honda rotors. The pads were also ready to be
replaced. It looks like the previous owner had the cv joint boots go on both
sides and there was a serious amount of old grease everywhere. I'm guessing
that riding on grease created the heat that warped the original rotors.
Anyways after puttin on new pads and torqing everything down on the test
drive there is a lot of scraping noise. The calipers look pretty nasty even
after a good cleaning. Is it possible the seals in the calipers couple be
fried? What else could be the problem?

A common cause of rotor warping is corrosion between the hub plate and the
rotor, especially if the hub plate has holes in it which some Hondas do.
Did you clean up any corrosion on the hub plate surface thoroughly and make
sure the new rotor was not rocking on the plate when mounting?

You mean scraping on brake application? Some scraping/scuffing noises from
new pads and rotors is normal IME for a few miles. If it doesn't clear up
after driving for a while, check the outer rotor surface for evidence.

I wire brushed off any corrosion that I found. The scraping noise is when I
do not have my foot on the brake and appears to be coming from both front
brakes. When I apply the brakes it gets louder. Maybe you are right since it
is coming from both front brakes that some break in is required. The last
set of rotors I put in on my 300ZX were Chinese rotors and I roughened them
up with some emery cloth because they looked too shiny-maybe I should have
done the same with them.
