Hello, Rick! Last year, I replaced the factory speakers on my 2004 Accord EX-L sedan, the two rears with Kicker 3-way 6x9"s and the fronts with 6" 2-way Kenwoods. I kept the factory radio unit because I didn't want to lose the functionality of the dash unit itself. I kept the two factory tweeters in the back of the dashboard because they required too much labor to change. I had a professional shop do the installations. I apparently do not get the full range with this set-up. If I adjust the treble towards maximum, I get harsh feedback anytime the vocals sing the "s" sound. I can minimize this feedback by neutralizing the bass and treble settings on the factory unit. I'm not sure if the factory tweeters are producing this feedback, but the distorted "s" and "sh" sounds suggest that 2-way 6x9"s in the rear may be the way to go. |

Just pop out the cover clips from the trunk side and put in new 6x9s. It sounds a little better but the unreplacable stereo still sucks ass. |

You can't replace the stereo on a 05 accord? What the hell is going on here?
Car manifacturers are making it so hard for a DIY-er work on their car, it's unspeakable. Isn't it enough that we have to pay so much money to fix an airbag that went off, or that we have to go to them every time we disconnect the radio and don't have the secure code? I mean this is rediculous. I don't like depending on someone else especially when it costs money to depend on that. **** that! <end of rant> John "Kevin McMurtrie" <mcmurtri@dslextreme.com> wrote in message news:mcmurtri-D90BD5.21581612042005@corp-radius.supernews.com... > In article <425c73b8.5877411@news.istar.ca>, > larryhudon@ca.inter.net (rb) wrote: > > > I am thinking of replacing the rear speakers on my accord > > > > Are the rear 6x9 speakers full range? > > has anyone replaced them? what was the result > > > > thanks for the info > > rickb > > I replaced them in my 2005 Accord Hybrid.
