It is worth whatever you can get for it to be honest. You can tell how much
anything is worth down to the penny. However much you can sell it for that
is how much it is worth. Now going away from philosophy here....

You have a car that you are interested in selling. By adding all of those
modifications you have eliminated about 99 percent of the possible buyers.
Most people don't wan't a car that has had all this stuff done to it and
they certainly don't want to spend money to get this stuff. So now you are
stuck selling to some kids that really would want your car. The problem is
that kids don't have the money laying around to buy this car. They would
have to get a loan. To the bank the car isn't worth any more that blue book
value so the maximum loan amount would be book value. Now assume you have
somebody that has a lot of money laying around and want's to buy a car for
cash. That person probably wants a newer car that they can modify or just a
newer car period so they wouldn't be interested in yours.

The fact is that there are thousands of cars, in the US anyways, that
people have invested thousands in to and they only get pennies on the dollar
for return. Especially when it comes to common cars such as yours. Even
with nicely rebuilt muscle cars or whatever you never get you money out of
them.

As a lurker here and in the market for car... Older buyer, not a kid.
Seeing the list of mods, my first worry would be "what else can go
wrong" and "how hard was it driven." IMHO, the blue book on an older car
is meant to reflect the value of the car, which is meant to reflect the
amount of potential grief to the new owner. The higher the blue book for
a standard car, the less potential grief. Mods, for many buyers,
subtract from that. If I were to buy a very modded used car... frankly,
I just wouldn't.

Not to say there isn't a buyer out there for a premium price, but you
need to find somebody with graduation money in their pocket, some kid
who will push back on daddy until he gets what he wants (or adult with
similar mentality). Anybody who really values the changes is likely the
same kind of person that wants to do the changes themselves.

I guess key would be how long are you willing to wait to sell it? If it
is well kept and good looking, the buyer exists, but finding them....

My two cents.

What hassle do you see for listing on ebay, as opposed to a regular private
sale?

you can advertise in auto trader and most likely you local newspaper for a
one time fee and run the ad forever. You just have to renew the ad every
couple weeks or so.

116k isn't too bad for a Civic of that age. I'd just keep it. You'll never
get the money you put into those mods back. If you do sell it I'd expect the
value to be around the $2500-$3,000 range.
