My windows fog up when it rains, it's coming up to the point where it
is dangerous for me to drive on rainy nights.

What exact setting should I use?

The only window that clears up is the rear window, and the very lower
part of the windshield. But the majority of the windshield and the
passenger windows remained fogged up, it looks as if people are smoking
or 'having sex'.

And that's when there's only one person (me) in the car.
What kind of problem is that?

The general setting I use is:

Cold temperature,
Air from outside
A/C On
DeFogger Button On
DeFogger/Lower Direction Setting for the A/C.

I believe the temperature should be set to hot, not cold. Warm air can hold
much more moisture than can cold. Voila, fog disappears!

This thread keeps coming up here.

Heat to max.
Fan to max.
Fresh air, not recirc.
A/C on, if above about 5 C (40 F).
Open a window slightly to improve airflow if necessary.
CLEAN WINDOWS. You may need to clean your windows daily, if your commute
exposes you to smog and dust.
Make sure there is no leak in the heater core. Even a tiny one will cause
fogging in almost any condition, although if your problem only occurs
in the rain, a leak isn't likely.
