It's works as designed. However; getting
in/out of the rear doors when parked close to another
car is a bit comical... Before you buy one, try it.
I also find the interior a bit Spartan for my taste
(would like to see carpet and cloth/leather option
available.) Other than that, it's hard to beat for a
small SUV.

You read my mind.

I stumbled across the chance to ride in one a few days ago, and was
delighted. It seemed perfect for my needs - occasional foresty but not
heavy offroad use, a bit larger than a sedan, easier to carrier people
and stuff, low maintenance - but like you I threw the idea out to the
newsgroups for general comment.

Funny, the rubber floor is what attracted me. I have
to be very careful about keeping dust down (asthma)
so this type of car is a blessing for someone like me.

They get excellent crash and reliability ratings as well.
Works for me!

Too bad one can't get a Roomba for the Element.
