My rear defroster suddenly stopped working. I took it to the dealer and
they said that there were too many scratches in the lines. I would have to get a new rear windshield installed if I wanted the defroster to work. But if the cause truely was non scratched lines, wouldn't at least some of the lines work? Currently, none of them work leading me to believe that there is a problem in the electrical system. Thoughts? |

Thoughts? > Connect a multimeter from one connector to the other and see if you have continuity with the switch ON. If you do, then the grid is bad. That's easily fixed with defroster paint from any auto supply shop. If you do NOT, then you've got an electrical problem, probably having to do with a bad switch. My money is on that the grid is fine and it's an electrical problem. -- TeGGeR® The Unofficial Honda/Acura FAQ www.tegger.com/hondafaq/ |

If any of the lines is not broken, he will always have continuity between
the connectors. Turn the switch on and check the voltage between two connectors. You should
get battery voltage. Even if all the lines are broken, you will still have voltage. If you don't have any voltage, check the fuse and the relay.
