Default wiper problems :(

Hi, any help with this would be much appreciated. The other day during
a long drive in the rain my windsheild wipers stopped working. None of
the settings make them move at all. If I manually push or pull on them
they both will move like they are 'connected'. I can hear the wiper
motor run when I turn them on. Does this mean the motor is good?
Suggestions?? Thanks!

What vehicle? What year?

Sounds like the link between motor and wipers has fallen off at the motor
end. The nylon socket wears and breaks up or drops out of the link and the
link falls off the motor crank ball. You cannot purchase the socket by
itself. The link is cheap, but time-consuming to replace.

Tegger.

I seem to remember on an older Isuzu pickup I had, that at the base of the
wiper, underneath a dust cap, there was a nut. Your accord my have
something like this and it only needs to be tightened.

Just and idea,

You're welcome.

Your option is singular: Replace the link. You can get a garage to do it or
you can do it yourself.

Unfortunately, if your vehicle is anything like the Civic/Integra, removal
of the water shields will entail disturbing components that may leak water
quite a lot once reassembled. Be prepared to replace a lot more than just
the link.

I hope an Accord owner can chime in here to relate his experiences.
