Default cause of blown fuses

I've got an 89 accord lxi. When I start it, the radio and fan blower
fuses blow each time. what could be causing the problem?

Blown fan (short) or a short in the radio circuit (or anything else on
that circuit). Time to do some electrical troubleshooting.

My brother had the same problem with his 93 Accord. After some conversation
he mentioned something about the cigarette lighter malfunctioning as well.
One look inside the lighter socket revealed some coins sitting at the
bottom. Pulled them out, replaced the fuse and no problems since.

I have no idea if the circuits are even the same on your year.

looked closer at the fuses...the fuses aren't blowing;
the radio and the fan blower work when the key is half turned;
they cut off only when I turn to engage the ignition to fully start the
car

The radio suppose to cut out during start. If it doesn't work with the key
in the "ON" position, then look for ignition switch problem.
