I'm thinking of a 4WD compact SUV and would appreciate owner comments
on the CR-V. I'm interested in real world performance during winters.
My area . . . . snow swept prairies, with dense deep drifting along
rural routes and very cold temperatures. How does this unit handle
hard, deep drifts (as opposed to say an even snow cover). How about
handling in winter? I'll use the example of a heavy 1/2-ton 4WD being
more than adequate to push it's weight through these problems, but a
2WD 1/2 ton bogging down w/o the 4WD traction ie. the weight alone
won't do it. Not sure of the weight/power of these units and how they
would handle the same, but if lighter weight does the 4WD compensate
enough to give it the power to push along in the outback? Thanks for

Hondasuv.com is a good place to check out the testimonials. They're
fantastic in deep snow and at icy intersections. The factory tires
aren't great because of noise and poor snow performance.

With true winter tires, it might be hard to get a CRV stuck.

You didn't mention which year / model you want to get.
