Default heavy vibration in 98 accord problem

I reversed in a parking lot and switched into drive. When I came to a
stop my car vibrated horribly. It vibrates loudest when it is in gear
at idle or at low revs. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM? I have been told
that it could be a damaged motor mount. If so how difficult and
costly would repair be?

There has been mention in this NG before about Accord using at least one
dynamic engine mount that varies in stiffness according to need. At
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com it looks like one of the engine
mounts have vacuum hoses going to it and a valve assembly associated
with it. Perhaps there is something wrong with this system in your car?

If you figure it out let me know. My 97 vibrates significantly on
hard acceleration in low gears, smooths out as the rpms rise.

I have tuned it and visually the motor mounts look OK, although I
don't know how to determine when one is bad.
