Default mail order parts

Anyone having good luck with mail order Honda parts? I ordered four
oil filters and a bulb from Majestic Honda for a total of $20.82.
Then they charged me $4.95 for handling and $8.22 for freight. I
thought this was pretty outrageous! I called Hparts recently and they
didn't answer the phone.

prcing and almost free shipping.

www.cheapesthondaparts.com is also a good place with which I have done
business. Majestic Honda, on the other hand, rarely answered back to my
inquiries, wasn't the best price, and didn't leave me with the greatest
impression.

I called the parts department at my local Honda dealer and they are
willing to match any price I find on the internet.. Call or e-mail the
parts manager at your dealer, they still make a good profit at internet
prices. I pay the tax but save on the shipping.. I use the following
internet sites for pricing information. Almost everything is negotiable
these days..

http://www.handa-accessories.com/
http://www.cheaphondaparts.com/
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/

Two years ago I ordered a timing belt and balance belt for my Honda from
Majestic. It took me several months to get around to changing the belts
myself. When I finally got everything apart I found they sent me the wrong
size belts so I had to immediately go to the local Honda dealer and pay full
price since my car was apart and I needed it the next day for work.

I think that their shipping charge on top of freight is ridiculous and don't
plan on buying from them again.

Here's my overall good experience with Majestic:

I ordered $101 of parts from it. Handling was $4.95, like others said. Shipping
was $7.95. They do ship UPS 3-day.

Even with the roughly extra 13% for S/H, the overall price was much less than I
could get from the dealer. The parts arrived about when I expected. (Of course,
shipping does not depend on mere dollar cost. It will vary depending on package
size.)

I might have been able to do better with another online parts company. But I
think only a little better. Plus, having the drawings at the Majestic site has
been invaluable to me over the last couple of years. So I'm happy paying maybe a
little more than other online parts sites to ensure Majestic stays in business.

I've emailed two different parts questions to Majestic in the last year. Its
people got back to me by email within 24 hours with the correct answer.

I made one other order but then a few days later I decided I didn't need the
parts afterall. A holiday had intervened since I'd made the order, and the
particular parts weren't in stock, anyway, so I called Majestic and asked if the
parts had been shipped yet. They had not. I asked if I could cancel the order,
and Majestic had absolutely no objection with my doing so.

I think the key with Majestic is to only order large quantities at a time.

Thanks to others for sharing their experiences. It will make me a little more
cautious with Majestic, but I would not rule it out in the future.

Ed, did you request any unusual shipping? I'm in the West. Majestic is in Rhode
Island, I believe. But I do figure your package was a little larger in physical
size to mine, thus the freight charge was a little larger.

Majestic is about two miles from where I used to live. The are in West
Warwick and I lived in Coventry to the west.

My experience with Majestic is satisfactory customer service but rather
pricey for parts. It pays to shop around judiciously.

I used to buy from hparts, but I lost contact. Since then, I buy from
www.fairhondapartsforyou.com and the shipping charges are 3.95 for every
order, no handling fee, and they have very good prices. I am very happy with
their service.
