Hi all,
Can anyone share the prices they obtained on a new 2005 EX-L (4 cylinder) with the navigation system? Edmunds does not seem to be giving accurate info (too high!). Lowest I've gotten so far is carsdirect at 24,600. I'm willing to put whatever time I need to into getting the best deal!! Does anyone think prices will drop next month or the month after by much? Is there truth to the idea I've heard to get a new car in December because they are more willing to deal? Thank you for any pointers! |

The best time to buy a 2005 will be late summer next year just as the
2006 models come out. When I have used Edmunds, they have always been to the dollar on the actual invoice amount. Can't get any closer than that. It's up to you to negotiate the amount over or under the invoice plus shipping price. I notice that they are not showing invoice price on that vehicle right now. Don't know if it is a problem with Honda or ?? Well, there aren't any 2004 EX-L's left at my local dealers that have
the Navigation System. So, I'm looking for a big discount on a 2005. Yes, that's the problem, Dick. Edmunds isn't showing any invoice and the TMV pricing $26,635. The carsdirect is almost $2000 lower at $24,683. I'm still looking for anyone who will share info about the price they got on this car. Thanks. |

If you look at the 2004 pricing, it shows an invoice price of $23,664.
The 2005 MSRP has gone up $200, so if you add $200 to the invoice price of the 2004 you get an invoice price on the 2005 of $23,864. Subtract that from the $24,600 you were quoted, and you are paying $736 over invoice. You have to be careful of the final price because of delivery costs, document fees, etc. Also dealer incentives, of which there probably aren't any yet. We just bought a 2004 Civic LX in August for our granddaughter. The price was $40 UNDER invoice, but less tax, license and document fee. I realize this was not an Accord with nav, but I would be looking for a price around $24,000. Even $24,600 is not all that shabby for a car at the beginning of the model year. Just as a reference point, we bought our 2003 EX V-6 with nav last June for $500 under invoice. Thank you, Dick. That was very helpful. I would not have thought of
figuring the invoice using the 2004 model as a guide. I'll keep trying to lower that price and let you know how I make out. You are welcome. I trust you saw my error in the June purchase of our
2003. It was June last year, not this year. Dick On 29 Sep 2004 07:41:34 -0700, Count_Caspian@yahoo.com (Jonathan) wrote: >Thank you, Dick. That was very helpful.
