Is there any problem with continuing to change oil at 3000 mile intervals as I did with my 82 Prelude? I know today's engines are different, and I don't want to do any damage (but I'm sure my mechanic who I've been dealing with for 20 years would let me know). |

It's not so much that modern engines are different as that 3,000-mile drain intervals haven't really been necessary for a long time now. >I know today's engines >are different, and I don't want to do any damage (but I'm sure my mechanic who >I've been dealing with for 20 years would let me know). > Ron |

Wait a sec. Haven't I read here that Honda puts special additives in the first batch of oil, and that's why the user manual recommends that the first oil change be at 7500 miles? Why ignore the manufacturer specification?? As Mike says, highway miles are easy on the engine. Abe |

I has a similar dilemma; I chose to change after - glad I did... |
