Default 2002 Honda Odyssey Transmission Blew UP

I have a 2002 Odyssey. The trans blew up at 19000 miles. It ran 500
miles then blew up again. It ran 10,000 miles more and blew up again.
Now at 34,000 it has another dead transmission.

I have contacted an attorney regarding this issue, there is recourse
even if your Honda is outside of the lemon-law in your state.

Honda needs to be held responsible for the damages that they are
causing by not fixing a problem and hoping that you go out of warranty
before the transmission blows.

The remanufactured transmissions they are supplying are nothing but
junk. All of them have failed in my car. I have friends that have
Odysseys that have no issues at all, how is this possible if this is a
design problem. It seems more like a build issue. Certainly, the
remanufactured transmissions are not as good as the original equipment
transmissions. At least the orginial in my car lasted 19,000 miles.

I also believe that Honda should be installing transmission coolers in
addition to the recall and perhaps using synthetic fluid.

Has anyone had luck in recovering damages under any lemon-laws for
this problem? Also, has anyone had any luck getting this fixed under
their extended warranty? Are there any experiences with non-dealer
rebuilds, perhaps with a lifetime warranty?

sounds like your DEALER is getting bad rebuilds... maybe to skim a buck
off the warranty repairs?

They are remanufactured by the terms of law only; the insides are
all-new and are assembled by the same manufacturer that makes the "new"
transmissions they install at the factory. The fact that they re-use
the exterior case requires that Honda call them "remanufactured".

But they are new.
