I have a 98 civic LX 5spd.
I disconnected my battery the other day, had to get it tested. Question 1: What is the procedure for reinstalling the battery? My Haynes manual says run the engine at 1800 RPM or something like that for 45 seconds. Is that true? Question 2: When I did this 'run at 1800 for 45 sec' and let off the gas, the idle was REALLY low for the first 1/2 hour or so. Would this be indicative of a further problem somewhere, and my ECU is compensating for it by running rich? (IE am I losing fuel economy, but the ECU is covering it up by adjusting the FA Mix?) I average about 33MPG (US gal) 50/50 highway/city. Thanks t |
